Turbo Trainer follow videos for an added virtual experience to an otherwise monotonous training session
20miles 1h:22m Westbury
A turbo trainer follow video of a 20 mile loop to Westbury via Hook-a-gate and Minsterly. The ride was captured on a very cold 1deg day in early January 2021 at the start of lockdown three on a AKASO Brava 7 LE sports camera. For the full virtual experience put ice cubes in your gloves and shoes. (P.Crinson)
Notes: This is the first video, the resolution was 1080P 60fps super wide angle and converted down to 720 60fps for YouTube, the camera mounting was too low on the bars with the bars in view, the image stabilisation was not on and the bright winter sun was very low in the sky causing light and dark contrast issues.
21miles 1h:40m Ruyton
A turbo trainer follow video of a 21 mile loop to Ruyton via Montford and Baschurch. The ride was captured on a damp dull very windy afternoon in mid January 2021 at the start of lockdown three on a AKASO Brava 7 LE sports camera. For the full virtual experience turbo in front of an open fridge with a big fan. (P.Crinson)
Notes: This is the second video so still learning, the resolution was 720 60fps super wide angle, the camera mounting was higher up but loose and moved several times on bumpy lanes, the image stabilisation was on and the dull light caused a few contrast issues.
20 miles 1h:34m Habberely
A turbo trainer follow video of a 20 mile loop and climb to Habberely via Annscroft and Longdon common. The ride was captured on a damp bright afternoon in mid January 2021 in lockdown three on a AKASO Brava 7 LE sports camera. For the full virtual experience, roll in cold mud before using the turbo as it was a very muddy ride. (P.Crinson)
Notes: This is the third video so still learning, the resolution was recorded at 1080P 30fps wide angle and converted to 720 30fps for YouTube, the camera mounting was bit loose and moved several times on bumpy lanes, the image stabilisation was on.
16 miles 1h:23m Town Loop
A turbo trainer follow video of a 16 mile loop around Shrewsbury town a surrounding streets. The ride was captured on a damp bright morning in early February 2021 in lockdown three on a AKASO Brava 7 LE sports camera. For the full virtual round the river experience get loads of people dogs and children to walk in front of the turbo. (P.Crinson)
Notes: This is the forth video, the resolution was recorded at 1080P 30fps wide angle and left in the same format for YouTube, the camera mounting on my MTB was bit loose and the wrong angle and moved several times on bumpy lanes, the image stabilisation was on.
